Luckily there's a cosmetic procedure, liposculpture, that doesn’t only remove excess fat but also moves it to another area in order to reshape the body and improve its overall contour.

So if you’re looking to sculpt and tone your body with an effective and minimally invasive body contouring procedure, you should consider Liposculpture. Sydney residents can contact us to book an initial consultation with one of our team of expert cosmetic doctors, to determine if this is the right path for you.

Liposuction procedures can reshape a number of areas of the body including the inner and outer thighs.

What is Liposculpture?

Liposculpture uses an advanced technique to remove excess fat deposits in areas that are resistant to exercise and diet. The end result gives you more muscle tone and shapeliness. During the liposuction procedures, the area to be treated is filled with a medicated solution to facilitate the removal of the fat cells.

The fat cells are additionally treated with state-of-the-art ultrasound energy making the removal even easier. Liposculpture leaves you with smooth contours, with less pain and recovery time than traditional liposuction.

What are the benefits of liposculpture?

Liposculpture is the least invasive way to target and remove stubborn pockets of fat while providing short downtime and minimal bruising. Much of this is due to the fact that it only requires a small incision. The treated area is injected with a medical solution and treated with state-of-the-art ultrasound energy to facilitate removal.

As fat cells are removed, a positive trauma is made to the cells stimulating collagen production, which tightens the skin around the treated areas. This lowers the risk of excess skin post-procedure, which other forms of liposuction do not necessarily provide.

This procedure is also the most precise fat-removing method offering the following benefits:

  • Remove unwanted fat
  • Increased skin tightening and contraction
  • Stimulates natural collagen production
  • Improve self-confidence
  • Performed under local anaesthetic
  • State-of-the-art ultrasound energy is used to facilitate the removal
  • Minimal chance of scarring
  • Shorter recovery time
  • Less pain and discomfort after treatment

What can liposuction surgery be used for?

Although people of almost any age can be good candidates for liposculpture, good skin elasticity is needed to achieve a smooth contour in any of the following areas:

How is a Liposuction procedure carried out at ICCM?

The team at ICCM will be there to guide you through your liposuction treatment, from your initial consultation all the way through to recovery. This is what you can expect:

Consultation

If you are interested in undergoing liposculpture, you’ll first come in for a personal consultation so that you can discuss your expectations. This is the first step for any patient considering surgery. We’ll assess your physical and emotional health, discuss your aesthetic goals, and address any questions or concerns you may have.

Our primary goal is to ensure that you select the right path forward to achieve your aesthetic goals. If not liposculpture, we will be able to suggest the most appropriate course of action. A unique surgical plan will be designed for you to best suit your physical features and desired result and we’ll also be able to offer specific costs.

Issues you should be prepared to discuss during the consultation are:

  • All medical conditions, both past, and present
  • Current medications, including nutritional supplements and herbal remedies
  • Past surgeries
  • Other treatments you have received
  • Current body concerns and expected outcomes
  • Questions surrounding the procedure

Procedure

During the procedure, the contours of the body are re-sculpted by removing subcutaneous fat. Firstly the area to be treated is filled with a medicated solution. With VASER lipo, the area is also treated with state-of-the-art ultrasound energy, further facilitating the removal of the fat cells. A thin, hollow tube is inserted below the skin through tiny incisions and used to break apart and vacuum out unwanted fat.

The incisions will be made in the body’s natural folds (whenever possible), in order to minimise the appearance of any resulting scarring. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and mild sedation which means a much shorter recovery time is required.

Recovery

You can expect to experience some swelling and bruising following your liposculpture procedure. These side effects are completely normal and should subside within a few weeks. You'll start to see the results of your treatment as your swelling goes down, although it can take up to six months to see the full effects of the surgery.

The experienced team at ICCM may recommend that you take around a week off work after your procedure. You'll need to avoid strenuous exercise for up to three weeks, although light walking is recommended while your body heals.

You'll also need to wear a compression garment for a number of weeks following your procedure, to minimise swelling and aid recovery. If you have further questions about the best lifestyle changes to speed up your recovery, our team is on-hand to offer all relevant information.

Am I a good candidate for a liposuction procedure?

If you’re looking to lose weight, liposculpture isn’t the right treatment for you. Liposuction is not a substitute for weight loss, so patients should be in good physical health. However, if you’re looking to sculpt and tone your body shape by removing stubborn areas of fat, then this procedure is right for you.

What kind of results can I expect?

The results of this treatment are typically visible within 48 hours, with the effects continuing to improve over time. Once the surgery results are visible, you’ll notice a reduction in stubborn fat deposits and smoother body contours.

It’s important to note that the results of liposuction will not be maintained if you lead an unhealthy lifestyle after surgery. If you stop exercising and start over-eating after the procedure, the remaining fat cells can still expand. So it’s important to live a healthy lifestyle after treatment in order to maintain your new body shape.

How much do Liposculpture and Liposuction cost in Sydney?

The total cost of the procedure varies according to the area and extent of treatment you have. In order to get an accurate quote, we advise booking a consultation with us so that a personal assessment can be carried out by one of our doctors.
