face and neck lift

This is a procedure where facial and/or neck skin and surface tissues are lifted using open surgery, usually via incisions in front of the ear, behind the ear and/or into the hairline.

Under sedation, local anesthetic is used to numb the areas. Incisions are made, and a skin flap? is raised via these incisions. Underlying tissues may be tightened and elevated. The skin flap is pulled up, and any excess skin is removed along the forward edge of the cut. The incisions are then closed using sutures and/or skin staples.

This procedure is performed on both sides. Other procedures, such as insertion of suspensory threads, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), or central placation (tightening) of the neck, may be preformed at the same time.
